WHAT IS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST?

Physiotherapists are highly qualified, university-trained health professionals who work in partnership with their patients to effectively treat physical injuries and ailments.

Our physios use advanced techniques and evidence-based care to assess, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of health conditions and movement disorders. Visits with your physio at our Newstead location will help repair damage, reduce stiffness and pain, increase mobility and improve quality of life.

OUR PHYSIO TREATMENTS

Our physios are able to help with a broad range of physical issues. These include both new (acute) injuries and old (chronic) conditions. Our hands-on, tailored approach to physiotherapy ensures each client receives the best course of treatment.

We treat a wide variety of clients at our clinic in Newstead. This includes helping athletes optimise their performance, treating office workers with neck pain and back pain, and preparing patients for surgery as well as guiding them through rehabilitation afterwards.

All the physios at our Brisbane clinics are highly proficient and experienced in working with a range of conditions including:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches & Migraines
  • Tendinopathy/Tendinitis
  • Bursitis
  • Wrist, hand and pain
  • Hip and groin injuries
  • Knee injuries
  • Ankle sprains

WHAT DOES A PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT INVOLVE?

Your first appointment with one of our physios will act as the initial consultation. This is where we conduct a comprehensive assessment and develop a clear understanding of your physical health, the condition and your lifestyle. During this time, we also assess the injury and your movement capabilities.

Wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment. Your physio will need to look at your injury, so ensure you wear clothing that allows easy access to the injured area.

We do ask our patients to bring any relevant medical assessments of the injury (such as x-rays or MRI scan) to the first appointment.
Once we have all the necessary information, your physio will tailor a specific treatment plan to be started straight away. Your treatment might include remedial massage combined with exercises and stretches to perform at home. Anytime Physio also use clinical Pilates and reformer Pilates as part of our treatments. This is highly beneficial for injury recovery as Pilates helps improve posture, balance, strength, control and flexibility.

Depending on what’s needed, your physio may show you strategies for correct movement and comfortable sleeping positions while your injury heals. At the beginning stages of your treatment plan, more appointments will be needed. As you regain better movement and strength, your visits become less frequent.
